love
most people who know me well know that i'm not religious at this point in my life. i used to be a pretty brain-washed christian. that is me no more in these days, as i claim to be agnostic. for those of you unfamiliar with that term, it means that i am not sure if there is a god or not, but i do not subscribe to any form of organized religon.
anyways, there are some good things that come from religion. many of the world's most charitable organizations are religious based associations. also, many groups help bring a sense of community. i also think that there are certain things we can take from religion that can help better us as people. i remembered a quote the other day when i was thinking of the subject of love. this is gonna sound a lil weird, but the best description i have heard of love comes from the bible. more specifically, from paul's first letter to the corinthians.
i had a rough day yesterday, but today was great for me. i was scared of losing a friend yesterday, but i think all that happened was that i grew closer to her. plus, i talked to some people i haven't talked to in a while. it was really good for me. i'm really happy that i've been so lucky with my wonderful friends who care about me. i care about and love them all immensely.
i'm in a pensive mood right now, i've been just doing a lot of thinking and smiling. a beautiful smile has invaded my thoughts, and i think the person who's smile that is know's exactly who she is.
yup, that's right; it's you jess.
we started a new piece of music in band today. i'm really liking it, and looking forward to us making it sound as wonderful as the composer meant it to be.
i got to watch the finals for drum corps last night and tonight. wish i could be part of that lifestyle right now, but i know i just need to wait a lil longer.
i hope this wonderful mood will last.
peace out.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices within the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres.i've thought about this quote a good bit over the past few days in reference to my relationships, not just with girlfriends, but also with friends. i realized that when i'm being jealous, untrusting, angry, or rude that i am infact being selfish.
Love never fails...And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.
