wow, finally a first entry...
well let's try to give a rundown of what drives me now, what's in motion now and get myself upto speed, because i doubt anyone else will read this.
so i'm jesse, i'm 17, and i live in the virgin islands attending a private school. i'm focusing most of my studying time to studying music, i passed AP music theory last year, and have started some original compositions and stuff like that.
in my personal life, i have a lot of it back in fort mill, south carolina, where i moved here from in august 2004. my best friend david lives there, and he comes and visits here ocassionally. i fly up to fort mill for a lil bit of the summer and a little bit of the winter, and chill with my friends there.
but i do have a personal life down here. i had a girlfriend for a year and four months, who is now in college, Jenika. but we split up about a month ago, and i have moved on. i now have an amazing girlfriend, who by some strange coincedence shares my name...jesse (she is jessica, of couse). we just started going out recently, and we've been having a great time. plus, round here, i have some tight friends, like chris and kerstin (who is kinda sorta together with david, that's a confusing situation).
i love acting and musicals and plays. i just finished up doing 'jesus christ superstar' for the community theather round here, and i was casted as 'max' in the sound of music for our spring musical, but due to some issues with the parents and schoolwork, i shan't, and shall instead be running the brand new light board, which is pretty cool.
school is amusing. lots of egos roam about, and i know i have one of them. i get very defensive on anything music, as i like to consider myself the student aficionado of the music world. plus, sometimes i just get really hard headed and turn into a complete ass. my temper has gotten me a reputation for a being a jerk at times, which i am trying to work against now. i'm a lot better now than i was before, last school year i was so uncomfortable here it was hard to be happy.
sometimes i miss fort mill, but i think i've come to terms with living down here. it's a lot different than living in the states. people think that the weather is the only difference. it is a difference, but a small one. being isolated on an island makes life a lil' tougher. we don't really have as much to do down here as i did up in suburbs. many people think, 'well go to the beach', but if you think about it, that's just not something you wanna do at all times. we have a movie theater, a bowling alley, and when it comes to that kinda stuff, that's about it. there are some jammin parties down here, and going to 'town' (christiansted boardwalk area) usually makes for a good night touring the bars and clubs. the drinking age down here is 18, and even that seems pretty casual. some of my friends compare this place to vegas, as in, tourists come down here and do things that will never leave this island. i haven't really experienced it for myself yet, but i can believe it. i like to get out and party, depending on who i'm with. if i'm not with a group of friends or with david, i have a really hard time coming out of my shell because i feel kinda shy and just creeped out being in that kinda social situation. but if i have some friends who can introduce me, or when david and i are together, i can really enjoy myself and be open enough to introduce myself and even do some stupid stuff.
i'm half german, and i take a lot of pride in that. i speak fluent german, and visit germany every summer to go see family and relax for a month. it's something that may not seem like very important, but to me i think it affects my personality on some level.
it's very weird writing about yourself. this is how i view myself, i wonder how people like david and jenika and kerstin view me. there's probably a lot more criticism in their view.
so that's an introduction of me. now i will start hopefully writing in this thing on a fairly regualar basis, and be able to keep track of my life. who knows, someone may just meander past this thing one day and take a look.
if so... enjoi.

I'd just like to comment: a year and four months, actually.
